Hello, my name is Alexey Cruz, I am a freshman here at the City College of New York. I am currently undecided but I intend in studying at the Spitzer School of Architecture for a bachelor’s degree in architecture. As a part of my first semester, I took FIQWS 10105, where I developed my skills as a writer. Before, I had somewhat of an idea of what to do when given a writing assignment, but Now a couple of months, I gained insight on what is needed to create a proper writing assignment. An element from this class that stood out for me were the rhetorical worksheets. I am fond of this specifically because it helped me understanding a reading better due to its breakdown of elements such as Author, Genre, Context, Audience and Issue.
